Do you want to build your career in investment and long-term value creation at one of Sweden’s leading investment companies?
Latour is looking for an Investment Associate to join its investment team in Gothenburg. The role is suited to someone in the early stages of their career who wants to deepen their understanding of companies, markets and business models. You will undertake high-quality analytical work and gradually take on greater responsibility in Latour’s investment and acquisition activities.
About Latour
Latour was founded in 1985 by the Douglas family and is a listed investment company that invests in companies with proprietary products and brands with future growth supported by global megatrends and internationalisation. As a long-term and active owner, Latour works to develop companies and create sustainable value over time. Its operations comprise a wholly owned industrial business and a portfolio of listed holdings, with a total Net Asset Value of c. SEK 130bn where more than two thirds of the holdings have been part of the Latour Group for over 20 years.
Latour’s way of working is characterised by our values: a long-term perspective, business acumen, trust & accountability and development.
About the role
As an Investment Associate, you will be part of Latour’s investment team and work on analyses and projects carried out in close collaboration with Latour’s investment team and group management, as well as the management teams of the wholly owned companies.
Initially, an important part of the role is identifying and analysing attractive markets, industries and companies. You will conduct research, market mapping, screening and target mapping, and analyse business models, competitive positions and long-term growth opportunities. You are expected to be able to familiarise yourself with complex issues, identify what is most relevant, and turn information into clear conclusions and a well-founded view of a market or company. In addition, you will also contribute in the acquisition processes in a supporting manner in due diligence, the coordination of workstreams and preparation of decision-making material for the Board of Directors. As you develop in the role, you will gradually be expected to take on greater responsibility for your tasks and the projects on which you work.
The role involves alternating between contributing to high-level strategic issues and conducting detailed analysis. This will give you a good understanding of Latour’s investment activities, business areas and holdings, as well as excellent opportunities to continue developing within investments, strategy and corporate development.
Your background
We are looking for someone with around two to three years of relevant professional experience from, for example, management consulting, corporate finance, corporate development, transaction services or another analytical field.
You have experience working with analyses, decision-making materials and complex issues where business understanding, structure and accuracy are important. Experience of transactions, due diligence, company valuation or financial modelling is an advantage, but we place great emphasis on your analytical ability, interest in business and motivation to develop within investments.
You have a Master’s degree in engineering, business, finance or a related field that has given you a strong analytical and financial foundation. You communicate very well in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
We value curiosity about how AI and other digital tools can be used to strengthen research, analysis, knowledge management and internal ways of working.
Who we believe you are
You have a genuine interest in companies and business and are motivated by understanding what drives a company’s competitiveness, profitability and long-term development. You have strong analytical abilities and can break down complex problems, distinguish what is essential from what is less important, and translate analysis into clear and useful conclusions.
As a person, you are curious, humble and positive. You take responsibility for your work, work in a structured manner and move tasks forward while maintaining a high level of quality. You are comfortable working both on foundational analysis and research tasks and on more complex issues.
You value close collaboration, share perspectives and knowledge, and contribute to the team’s collective work. You have sound judgement and high integrity and thrive in an environment where the pace can at times be high.
Workplace in Gothenburg
We are looking for someone who wants Gothenburg to be their primary place of work and home base. This will allow the person to be an active part of our day-to-day work at Latour’s head office, where the majority of the investment team, group management and business area management are based.
We look forward to receiving your application
Relevant experience can take different forms. If you meet the core requirements and feel that the role is a good fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you do not have experience in every area. Different experiences and perspectives contribute to better decisions and stronger teams.
We practice continuous selection and encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.
